Afrique Profonde Touring Exhibition, Call for Venues
Afrique Profonde would like to tour a projected exhibition, we are looking for venues to show late 2011, early 2012 (length of exhibition is flexible) and would very much like to approach your institution for project partnership.
Afrique Profonde Residency Scheme is working with a London Based Artist Flora Parrott (Tintype Gallery), as Parrott will be one of the Artists in residence 2011. The program takes Artists to the Congo to enable a platform for collaboration and exchange with the ‘Pygmy’ communities and the traditional culture of the Congo. The residency will be a focussed time to cultivate research and work during a 12-week trip in the deeply-rooted cultures of the Congo basin rainforest. The objects and recordings made will be exhibited in London in 2011 and will become part of a larger, academic body of work conducted by Marius Billy and Afrique Profonde.
